Funny how the aphorism “never judge a book by its cover” is so wrong. We ALWAYS judge books by their covers. And I agree, this cover is super-duper cute. That protagonist does sound like a nightmare. I did have a brief flashback memory of driving by an ex's house in the middle of the night (no, I never got out of the car or called and hung up) and I am SO glad that I am not 21-years-old anymore!

Melissa, no I definitely see the appeal of that. I just always wonder if there's going to be something I'll love that isn't getting the blog attention, like with Jack Tumor. I wonder if the LibraryThing “will you like this?” algorithm could help steer me clear of reads like this that aren't a good match for me…

Oh, I used to get burned all the time, lured in by purty covers. Now, I just read what other bloggers tell me to read and stay away from the ones they don't like (like this one). Very mercenary of me, but I really don't like wasting my time.
